My Heart for Polka

My heart for Polka…. :))

As the  summer  came rolling its time to think about new summer look. With  mercury rising I have to spice up my wardrobe, toss what to wear and what clothes to keep back shelf.   With warm rays of sunshine it is the season to sport eye popping bright and easygoing  clothes . Time  to flaunt capris, casual dresses, flowing long skirt. So what can be a better excuse for  shopping.

I always try to imagine my clothes I want to shop, as if I almost know exactly what I want, but in reality it is hard to find that,:((( Like most girls I can never go shoppingblank ,so I end up buying nothing at times.

My piece of advice- if you have little time always do a market survey at first, visit stores in the mall to find out best clothes around. It is  smart to check out collection rather paying for something half like.  When looking for the perfect  outfit it really pays to shop around a bit. Being on healthier side I am always worried about what will suit me best. I can’t afford the luxury of picking up dresses I like.

So my shopping experience went like this.I was indulging myself in window shopping or to be precise looking for something matching my mental note.I was passing a shop and magically saw a dress that looked so amazing.  I got  excited that I rushed in the store. It was polka white cocktail dress displayed on a mannequin by designer brand, it was such a  gorgeous piece.I am a kind of person If I like something I like to get it, I desperately wanted it.But when I saw the price tag I walked out of the store as if I was never there, even I did not provide sales associate any opportunity to greet me.It was more than 200$.Fact that it is designer store and not an outlet mall or discount shop where I can get high fashion brand clothes at affordable price. When I am in  budget I cant afford to blow my budget on one go.

I am fond of dots on my dress, bigger or smaller doesn’t matter. Polka dots are retro classic and now when it is in my mind it is a must have for me. We had polka dots fashion in 80’s Bollywood movies. 80’s era of fashion in Bollywood sported polka sarees & dresses alot. Hollywood celebrities are also polka dots trend setters.
Our very own sonam  ,kareena loves to wear polka.

                                                               Polka in Ethnic

Long back polka dots were popular by character called Minnie mouse. She had polka dress, polka hair band.

Now Polka is for grown up gals too. People say polka fashion is outdated, but for some it is timeless classic. Fall 2011  season runway showed their love for polka. Its from Runway models to red carpet to street fashion everyone like to go dotty this season. Dotted prints are not limited on clothes only but it is on everything now from bags to shoes to fashion accessories.

I could not find anything matched that amazing dress that day, came back home exhausted and disappointed. My luck favored I found out a polka white dress from one of my fave store next week.It was casual flirty summer dress. Even I picked up a cute dotted top that day. I am going to post that pic.

Retro inspired..

Traditional or western I like wearing this style.

Celebrities like Christina Aguilera,Katy Perry,Emma Stone looking chic, feminine and flirty in polka.

Fun patterns of polka can make casual to glamorous statements.
